MIG / Flux-Core Welder - Steel Plate Repair

Twinsburg, Ohio | Second Shift | Starting Wage: $22.00/hour

Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM | Overtime Available

POSITION SUMMARY

Churchill Steel Plate is seeking a MIG / Flux-Core Welder for second shift to perform repair work on oxy-fuel and plasma-cut steel plate parts. This is not a structural fabrication or high-level production welding position. The primary work involves welding/building up localized cutting defects and hand grinding the repaired areas back to the required part profile. Candidates must have previous MIG welding and steel/metalworking experience and be comfortable performing hands-on physical work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform MIG/flux-core weld repairs on oxy-fuel and plasma cutting defects.

Grind and prepare damaged areas before welding.

Build up gouges, notches and other localized defects with weld metal.

Hand grind and blend completed repairs to the required part contour.

Visually inspect completed repairs for acceptable workmanship.

Use a tape measure and basic measuring tools as needed.

Assist with handling and repositioning steel parts.

Maintain welding/grinding equipment and a clean, safe work area.

REQUIREMENTS

Previous MIG welding and steel/metalworking experience required.

Flux-core welding experience preferred but not required.

Comfortable and proficient with hand-held grinders and basic power tools.

Ability to read a tape measure and follow work instructions.

Willing and able to perform repetitive, hands-on physical work.

Comfortable working around heavy steel, heat, sparks, noise and dust.

Dependable attendance, reliable transportation and flexibility to work overtime as production needs require.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Steel-toe safety footwear with metatarsal protection is required. Other required PPE is provided by Churchill Steel Plate.

SCHEDULE

This is a second-shift position with working hours of 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM. Overtime is currently available, and some schedule flexibility is required based on production needs.

Starting Wage: $22.00 per hour

Pay: $22.00 per hour
