The Office of the Second Judicial District Attorney improves the quality of life of the citizens of Bernalillo County by reducing crime through thoughtful enforcement of the law and the development of a criminal justice system. The Office is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and is seeking applicants for a grant funded Victim-Witness Specialist position at the Second Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: This position requires considerable knowledge of the criminal justice system, court proceedings, and procedures within the District Attorney’s office; effective written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, supervisory skills; ability to prepare statistical and routine reports and correspondence; ability to work with diverse individuals and agencies; grant writing and administration abilities.
- Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, social sciences, or related field, plus four years’ work experience in victim assistance, or related crisis intervention work preferred with an emphasis on violent crimes.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, social sciences, or related field and 2 years of relevant work experience
Job Requirements/Working Conditions: Most work is performed in an office environment. Some physical effort and frequent travel may be required. May be required to be on-call during non-working hours. May be required and or interact with court facility dog.
