    Job Summary

    Provides supervised health care services to patients and performs a variety of administrative and clinical support duties related to the Student Health clinic operations.

    Responsibilities

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    PROVIDING PATIENT CARE: Provide patient care up to the full scope of practice, including rooming patients, measuring vital signs, taking chief complaints, venipuncture, injections, dressing changes, performing CLIA-waived in-house lab testing, setting up and assisting providers during sensitive exams and all office procedures, and scheduling appointments as needed.

    DOCUMENTATION OF PATIENT CARE: Document patient care in the electronic medical record, including scanning and attaching documents, completing residency/rotation forms, and notifying the patient of laboratory results after review by the ordering provider.

    DATA ENTRY IMMUNIZATION COMPLIANCE: Assist with data entry related to immunization compliance.

    ASSISTANCE: Assist supervisor with administrative responsibilities, including training, policies and procedures, and accreditation standards.

    OTHER DUTIES: Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    High School diploma, GED, or equivalent from a State or Federal accrediting organization with a minimum of 6 months of work experience as either a CMA or CNA. Certification as a Certified Medical or Nursing Assistant required.

    Current BLS CPR certification required. The employee is subject to random drug screening.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience working supervised among a multidisciplinary team of staff and healthcare providers, using an electronic medical record for documentation.

    Experience recognizing emergent symptoms of patient decompensation/instability and performing Basic Life Support CPR.

    Experience in administering vaccines and oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications.

    Experience using databases for documentation, tracking, and presentations (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).

    Demonstrates interest in creating an open and welcoming workplace for all individuals.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    KNOWLEDGE

    Knowledge of Electronic Health Records.

    Knowledge and experience working with all populations.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

    Demonstrates interest in creating an open and welcoming workplace for all individuals.

    SKILLS

    Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

    Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and customer service skills.

    ABILITIES

    Ability to maintain confidentiality.

    ** This is a Temporary, Part-Time Position - 20 hrs per week/.50 FTE**
