As a Shop Foreman with AF Steel Fabricators, you are a dedicated and organized professional with exceptional leadership skills, you will be responsible for collaborating with Estimators, General Contractors, and Internal office departments.
Your primary responsibility will involve overseeing manufacturing projects and manpower from start to finish, including scope and scheduling, and ensuring shop teams have access to the most current manufacturing information.
Role & Responsibilities
Works directly with Shop/Plant Manager on all manufacturing projects and manpower.
Supports Plant and Shop Managers on all items and aspects of the manufacturing projects for positive production flow
Coordinates with the Plant and Shop Managers for all fabrication schedules to ensure products is delivered to the site on time per the site schedules
Coordinate, track, and distribute equipment and manpower
Coordinates with Plant and Shop Managers on shop information/conditions
Leads by example as a Professional
Problem solves as necessary to perform job functions
Complies with all Company Policies and Procedures
Review project scope, contracts, and drawings to have a complete understanding of project requirements
Helps to review all drawings for accuracy to the Design drawings
Coordinates, as required, with field installation crews to ensure all project site schedules are met, all product is provided to field in a timely fashion all equipment is available, all ‘E – Drawings’ are provided site conditions are conclusive of installing product in a timely and safe manner
Work with Safety team to ensure all Safety guidelines and rules are followed
Must understand ‘TEKLA - EPM GO’ program to review production assembly status in the shop
Background/ Qualifications
HS Diploma or equivalent
MUST have 5+ years Structural Steel leadership experience in the structural steel industry or similar field
MUST have experience as a fabricator in the structural steel industry
Welding experience a plus
Strong computer and communication skills required.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
General knowledge of fabrication and erection standards and procedures.
General knowledge of AISC and/or PCI standards and AWS D1.1 and D1.8 codes.
Proven ability to read and interpret shop and design blueprint drawings.
Proven ability to manage large multiple commercial and industrial projects.
Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting stringent deadlines.
Ability to read and understand all the project specifications, project manuals, Architectural Drawings, and Structural Drawings.
