Advanced Assembly, Inc., located in University Research Park on the west side of Madison, is looking to add a Shipping Clerk-Delivery Driver to our well-trained and experienced staff. Advanced Assembly, Inc. is an electronics manufacturing services provider of electronic assemblies and products. This full time position offers a First Shift schedule of Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, a competitive starting wage and a full benefits package. Wage depending on experience. Job Description: The Shipping Clerk-Delivery Driver assists with incoming and outgoing shipments, ensures that all orders are filled and packed correctly, keeps track of inventory in the area, assists with daily stocking levels, and assists with tracking the date of delivery and all pertinent information involved in the process. This position also includes performing daily general deliveries and part/order pick-ups within the Madison area.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: (Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign and reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time).

  • Verify and keep inventory records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipments.
  • Compare identifying information, counts, weights, or measurements of items for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records, and track date of delivery and all other pertinent information involved.
  • Occasionally prep and book freight shipments.
  • Perform daily general deliveries and part/order pick-ups within the Madison area.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by primary supervisor.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Clean and valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand both verbal and written instructions in the English language.
  • Shipping experience with UPS World ship and/or Fed Ex Manager is preferred.
  • Forklift and pallet jack experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
  • Experience with ERP systems or the willingness to learn is required.
  • Organized self-starter with the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow established product handling procedures while complying with safety and ESD guidelines.
  • Ability to work with Sales team to keep daily shipments on track.
  • Ability to professionally communicate via telephone and email.

  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand in one area for long periods of time, with minimal breaks. Ability to lift up to 25lbs on a regular basis and up to 50lbs occasionally. Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and carry heavy objects.
  • Work Environment: Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals.
