Five on Black Kitchen & Spirit House aspires to be everyones favorite spot to create new memories through food, drinks, and the laughter of friends and family!

With both owners residing in the city of Murfreesboro we want to bring something new and exciting to the city we love! The name Five on Black is a tie to the game Roulette, commonly found in a casino. The casino is a place which to us represents leaving all your worries at the door, letting loose and having fun with friends. Five on Black, conceptually, is a Gastro-Spirit House that offers the kind of bar food everyone knows and loves but accomplished with the type of showmanship and flare that is typically only found in a Las Vegas restaurant.

Job Summary:

We are seeking dedicated Servers to join our team. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a memorable dining experience for our guests. Our Servers are team players that work well in a fast-paced environment. They practice safe food handling procedures and have an awareness of food allergens, including where to find more information and take proper steps to keep our guests safe. They will follow company policies and procedures; details and more information will be provided in the company handbook. Maintaining knowledge of new and existing food and spirits to successfully implement and support the restaurant goals.

Duties:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Greet customers and ask if they have any questions about the menu
  • Make suggestions based on their preferences
  • Deliver food and beverages in a timely manner
  • Upsell additional products when appropriate
  • Check on customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Responsible for taking orders using handheld technology (when available) and serving food and drinks in a timely and accurate manner as well as delivering a fun, unique and satisfying dining experience.
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system quickly and accurately and uphold cash handling procedures. We will be using TOAST point of sale.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining area by keeping empty glasses and dirty plates off the table (we will have a Busser available but you are responsible for clearing off your table when time allows)
  • Prepare final bill, process payment, and handle cash transactions

Skills:

  • Excellent time management
  • Strong hospitality skills
  • Sales and upselling abilities
  • Proficiency in basic math for order taking and billing
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Experience in food service industry preferred
  • Cash handling experience is a plus
  • Ability to build positive guest relations
  • Familiarity with TOAST POS system is advantageous
