Senior Engineer Supplier Quality, this position will provide support in Structural Heart division, based in Caguas, Puerto Rico.

The Opportunity

This position works out of our Structural Heart, will be based in Puerto Rico. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.

As Senior Engineer Supplier Quality you will lead receiving inspection activities for assigned site and maintain incoming inspection quality records.  Supervise incoming inspection personnel. Provide support on Incoming Inspection activities related projects and tasks for the assigned site. Manage supplier non-conformance, corrective action, supplier change request system and provide support on required supplier quality activities.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinates quality incoming inspections and release for assigned site assuring that all required testing are accurate and completed in compliance with established procedures and regulations.

  • Generate, monitor and close Supplier Corrective Actions and maintain Supplier Corrective Action database.

  • Evaluate and approve Supplier Evaluation Plans and Components Quality Plans according to established procedures. )

  • Verify corrective action effectiveness and establish quality inspection plans.

  • Manage supplier related investigation, as needed, regarding in-process and incoming inspection testing and product release nonconforming events.

  • Supervise incoming inspectors. Monitor attendance and inspection productivity output per time standard. Establishes and monitor SCARS and presents results to management.

  • Perform supplier change activities, supplier changes Validations (Protocols and Reports) and new Incoming Inspection equipment Validations as required.

  • Ensure compliance with procedures and all applicable regulatory agency requirements.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.

  • 5 years' experience as Quality Supplier Assurance and/or general Quality Operational Roles.

  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Medical Device Industry (preferred).

  • Supervisory skills required.

  • Prior experience in quality inspection areas

  • Excellent knowledge of related regulations (QRS, ISO and FDA 820 sections).

  • Proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Office) with good knowledge of statistics techniques, sampling plan programs and component drawing’s interpretation and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge.

  • English and Spanish advanced.

The base pay for this position is $66,000.00 – $132,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
