The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.


Description

Liberty Mutual Claims Technology is looking for a Portfolio Scrum Master II to join our Claims Experience organization. In this role you will play a critical role in enabling teams that deliver valuable solutions which attract new customers, further protect and support existing customers, and ultimately allow us to continue to Win Together with Purpose. The Scrum Master II is a member of the delivery leadership team for the portfolio guiding coordination, synchronization, and support of a “team of teams” that is necessary to deliver upon our priorities and initiatives. Additionally, the Scrum Master advises Portfolio Leadership on value stream efficiency and effectiveness ensuring alignment to Strategic Goals. The Claims experience Portfolio is currently involved in multiple transformative initiatives and is looking for someone who is prepared to collaborate, influence, and possesses a robust communication, technical delivery leadership, strong collaboration and planning skillset.


About the Job:

  • Partnering with team leadership to identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, blockers, and impediments that may impact the “team of teams” progress and ability to deliver value across programs
  • Aggregate product team objectives and progress to ensure visibility and transparency
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among teams and stakeholders at portfolio level events to ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities
  • Use metrics, assessment tools and indicators to gauge the health and effectiveness of the team of teams.
  • Drive the adoption, reporting and review of data and metrics to measure and optimize the effectiveness of both product delivery and engineering excellence
  • Guides continuous improvement efforts to enhance delivery and effectiveness of the team of teams
  • Provides coaching and consulting to Portfolio and Product Team leaders on best practices to accelerate maturity and remove organizational barriers to agility
  • Displays strong communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills.
  • Advanced presentation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline and at least eight, typically ten or more years related experience as a project team member, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of business functions and extensive understanding of business operations, strategies and objectives, and Agile Methodology.
Qualifications

Highly Competitive Applicants will have some combination of experience with:

  • Program or Portfolio Management
  • Prior experience as a Release Train Engineer and/or Scaled Agile
  • Experience working in or around Software delivery teams, Customer facing applications, Digital experiences, and/or Insurance Industry
  • Experience user or administrator of Atlassian Jira, Confluence, GitHub; and Microsoft Power BI Reporting/analytics dashboards.
