Liberty Energy Services, a division of Safety Management Systems, has an immediate opening for a Safety Inspector for a project in Grand Isle, LA.
The Safety Inspector is responsible for addressing and resolving issues pertaining to safe conditions in the work environment on client projects for the purpose of verifying conformance with construction plans. Oversees the implementation and adherence to safety polices in order to prevent harm, injury or illness.
Responsibilities:
- Identifies hazardous workplace conditions, removing hazards, and protecting workers by revising work procedures.
- Provides technical expertise for clients to ensure compliance with applicable project regarding federal, state and/or company safety regulations.
- Keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the client project.
- On a daily basis, conducts compliance evaluations of work in progress to ensure that regulatory safety standards and all applicable codes are followed; point out hazards; and recommend change orders and work stoppages.
- Implements Quality Control management procedures.
- Facilitates safety meetings and participates in all safety/progress meetings conducted by contractor.
- Develops and presents safety training with all workers on client projects, implementing the use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment where needed.
- Prepares and reviews technical reports, correspondence, and procedures manuals.
- Participate in informal and formal assessments of all Safety programs.
- Communicates directly with the client on a regular basis through verbal and written communications, and makes presentations as necessary
- Establishes and maintains licenses and permits as required.
- Meet applicable regulatory codes and standards where required.
- Consistently maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets, employees, and the general public.
- Review qualifications of contractors to be used on the project, as needed.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3+ years’ experience in Pipeline Construction
