Avera Health Plans is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) – Utilization Management to join our Team!

Job Summary

• The Utilization Management RN is responsible for authorization processes, coordination of care, and review of outpatient/inpatient care.
• The Utilization Management RN will evaluate the options and services required to meet the member’s health and psycho-social service needs, discharge planning, in support and collaboration with care coordination and case management programs.
• The goal of the Utilization Management RN is to make sure the member receives the right care, at the right time, and in the right place.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Registered Nurse with a minimum of five years of professional nursing practice experience in the acute care setting.
• Managed Care experience in a HMO setting is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Familiarity with data extraction tools is desirable.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Registered Nurse in the state of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirement of Mulit-state licensure.

Work Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm; 80hrs/2wks

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $29.50 - $44.25 per hour
