Job Purpose

The Mayfield, KY facility is looking for an experienced QA Manager to join its leadership team.

The suitable candidate will manage a team of 14 inspectors and 1 quality engineer and manage the quality department at our remanufacturing facility. Candidate must be able to work with various departments to ensure products and procedures are in compliance with industry specifications and customer requirements. Must be proficient with computers and have a working knowledge of spreadsheets, database, statistics and word processing. Candidate must be able to implement and maintain a strong continuous improvement and internal audit program designed to increase the Quality Awareness within the facility.

Key Job Elements

  • Interpret customer requirements and specifications and revise or design new procedures to ensure compliance;
  • Audit established procedures and quality systems to ensure compliance;
  • Supervise the Quality department personnel and provide guidance and feedback to improve performance;
  • Implement and maintain a Continuous Improvement program;
  • Assist customer and 3rd party auditors and inspectors;
  • Maintain an inspection program to ensure product complies with requirements;
  • Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis;
  • Submit detailed reports to appropriate executives and department heads.

Education / Training

  • College degree in a technical discipline is preferred; however a proven record in a production quality program is acceptable.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience as quality manager in an ISO certified company;
  • Some travel and outside work may be required;
  • Detail oriented with good communication, organizational and leadership skills;
  • Proficient in MS Office, Statistics software and databases;
  • Excellent Communication skills;
  • In depth understanding of quality control procedures, inspection practices and audits;
  • Experience in leading Continuous Improvement Process (Teams).

Essential and Physical Activities Functions
  • Strength – Position requires lifting of 50lbs. Requires stamina and strength to work in tight and confined spaces while installing or repair machinery and components;
  • Motion – Position requires standing and/or walking the majority of the day. Frequent walking, squatting, kneeling, and climbing of steps and stairs;
  • Vision/Hearing Requirements – Exposed to high levels of noise and vibration from using tools. Position is exposed to cutting torches and welding operations. The use of proper PPE is required. The Position requires the ability to read QWI and schematics and understand instructions;
  • Work Environment – Position can be located inside or outside, dependent on situation. When inside, the employees are subject to temperature extremes in non-temperature-controlled environments. When outside employees are subject to all weather elements. Employees will work with oils and other lubricants;
  • Emotional Demands – Expected to work and cooperate as part of team to meet production requirements;
  • Safety – Position is safety sensitive, as it requires working in and around live tracks and operation and repair of heavy equipment. Position requires strict adherence to safety policies (i.e blue flag) and use of all PPE.
