The
Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Center for Prevention & Health Promotion / ASRH Section
program in Portland, Oregon has a fantastic career opportunity for a Qualifications Specialist ( Administrative Specialist 2) supports technical assistance for professional trade schools, school-based health service programming, including for the school-based health center (SBHC) program.
This is a full-time, permanent, classified position which is represented by a union.

What will you do?
As the Administrative Specialist 2 you will provide professional level administrative support for the Qualification Analyst and the Boards/Councils/Programs overseen by the HLO. This position aids in the maintenance and coordination of education programs and practical examinations for the various professions regulated by the office. This position also assists the public by conducting study reviews for qualifying candidates as well as providing clarification regarding office policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications: [CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION – Salary Information]
Three years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR
An associate degree in general office occupations and two years of secretarial or administrative support experience that includes coordinating office procedures, preparing narrative and statistical reports, and administrative data collection and analysis; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Attributes:
- Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in office software, such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Must be able to conceptualize and complete projects independently.
- Capable of evaluating program operations.
Working Conditions:
This position may be eligible for a hybrid (office/remote) role based on management’s determination of eligibility and work schedule. To be eligible for a hybrid schedule, staff must have an alternate workplace that meets all applicable technology, security, safety, and software system access requirements, including the ability to protect confidential information. Hybrid work staff must establish and maintain an appropriate environment and schedule when working from an alternate workplace and report regularly to a state office location as determined by management.
