When you join our team as a Production Manager at one of our Michelin certified retread facilities, youll be responsible for managing performance metrics to ensure standards are being met, cultivating an engaged and highly productive workforce, and understanding the levels to pull to impact manufacturing performance.
As the Production Manager you will spend the majority of your time in these three areas:
- Impact Business Results. You will be responsible for maintaining strong performance by comparing performance metrics to actual results and making operating adjustments as necessary to impact those results. Youll be responsible for communicating the status of these metrics to key players to ensure they are aware of current status of your shop. As a manager, you are responsible for overall plant efficiency where you track metrics such as: Units produced and payroll efficiency.
- Cultivate Engaged and Productive Workforce. As a Production Manager, youll be responsible to directly supervise nine employees. In this role, you will cultivate and sharpen your leadership skills. As a part of this you will:
- Monitor attendance
- Increase employee engagement
- Build morale while interacting with employees
- Foster teamwork through hands-on leadership
- Handle employee relation issues
- Operate Production Stations. You will become certified in all eleven of the production stations right away. Your goal will be to work alongside your team and train employees on the different retreading stations. This is physically demanding work so it is important to not be afraid to get your hands dirty and be on the line with your team. As a part of this youll learn the following production stations:
- Initial Inspection, Buffer, CIA, Skive, Repairs, Fill, Builders, Chambers, Final Inspection, and X-ray
