The role:


Galileo has an immediate opening for a full-time Paralegal to assist Galileo's legal team, within the greater SoFi Legal Team - with a primary focus on reviewing NDAs and vendor contracts, working on draft amendments and completing due diligence requests on behalf of the company. Our team needs a motivated, reliable, and collaborative self-starter who works well in a fast-paced environment and is eager to learn and be part of a growing company.


What you'll do:



  • Coordinate with other departments, such as privacy, information security, and finance to obtain due diligence documents; ensure delivery of important documents and notices

  • Review and prepare legal drafts

  • Conduct legal and factual research

  • Perform administrative legal responsibilities

  • Create and update process documents and SOPs

  • Organize and facilitate meetings as necessary (e.g., creating agendas, taking notes and action items, drafting correspondence, and following up to see action items through to completion)

  • Handle confidential/sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism at all times

  • Work closely with Galileo's attorneys on Galileo-related meetings, initiatives, and projects


What you'll need:



  • A paralegal certificate or at least 2+ years prior experience working on commercial legal and business matters as a legal assistant/paralegal, or similar role, preferably in an in-house setting

  • Excellent writing abilities

  • Possess superior attention to detail

  • Ability to work productively both independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to track deadlines, partner with the cross-functional partners to obtain relevant information, and project manage/meet time-sensitive deadlines to respond to all legal process served on the Company

  • Excellent analytical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities

  • Strong ability to multitask and manage multiple requests across various departments and subject matter areas

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle time-sensitive requests

  • Knowledge and understanding of the legal requirements involved in specific contracts

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, G-Suite, Airtable, Ivalua, IronClad, and Confluence

  • Experience in editing and proofreading and creating powerpoint presentations

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Highly motivated and self-starting - you are eager to roll up your sleeves and get things done and work on a wide variety of projects and legal matters

  • Experience coordinating and driving legal projects to successful completion


Nice to have:



  • Experience working for a financial services or fintech company. Proficiency with Legal Tracker, LexisNexis, Jira, and Relativity/other e-discovery platforms.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.
