Job Description

Job Summary:

The Overnight Houseman for Banquet Spaces is responsible for ensuring that all banquet and event areas are clean, well-maintained, and ready for use. This role involves deep cleaning, setup, and breakdown of events, as well as providing exceptional service to ensure a positive guest experience during nighttime hours.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Thoroughly clean and sanitize banquet halls, meeting rooms, and adjacent areas, including floors, furniture, and fixtures.


  • Setup and Breakdown
    : Assist with the setup and breakdown of banquet events, including arranging tables, chairs, and audiovisual equipment as per event specifications.


  • Inventory Management:
    Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of all banquet supplies and equipment, ensuring items are organized and in good condition.


  • Guest Assistance:
    Provide excellent customer service by responding to guest inquiries and requests related to banquet spaces.


  • Safety and Security Checks:
    Conduct regular inspections of banquet areas to ensure they are safe and secure, reporting any issues to management.


  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with the catering and events team to ensure smooth transitions between events and to assist with any last-minute needs.


  • Emergency Procedures:
    Be knowledgeable about hotel emergency protocols and be prepared to act in case of emergencies.


  • Demonstrates:
    A strong commitment to maintaining the cleanliness of function areas, including scrubbing baseboards, walls, and surfaces, vacuuming floors, and organizing storage spaces.


  • Exhibits:
    A strong willingness and ability to organize, clean, and maintain all banquet storage spaces and back-of-house areas, including the Fountainview pantry, West Wing pantry, and various storage rooms.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.


  • Previous experience in housekeeping, event setup, or a similar role preferred.


  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


  • The ability to set a banquet space according to a diagram (requires good mobility and an ability to lift 50lbs regularly) perform physical tasks.


  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
