The Music Ministry Coordinator plans, coordinates and implements music for all worship services throughout the year. The position recognizes the integral part that music plays in the worship life of the congregation.

The position looks for ways to encourage people to use their musical gifts and skills within the church.

Position Status

• 12 month, part-time position with 10-12 hrs/week at $25.00/hr. Sunday morning, Monday – Thursday schedule. Daily schedule to be determined with Lead Pastor.
• Meet the requirements for, and be Safe Sanctuary trained; pass a background check.
• Direct Supervisor: Lead Pastor

Music Ministry [60% of time]

• Plans music for weekly worship in collaboration with the Pastor.
• Provides accompaniment for Sunday worship music.
• Works to introduce a broad range of music and music style as a part of the worship service.
• Collaborates with Praise Ringers Bell Choir Associate Music Coordinator
• Coordinates special music guest performers from within congregation and community.
• Provides music for special events services, e.g. Christmas, Ash Wednesday, and Holy Week.
• Assists with the setup for microphones, sound board and other AV equipment.

Music Ministry Leadership Development [30% of time]

• Provides song leadership to lead worship music and teach new songs with the congregation.
• Recruits and develops new music contributors for Sunday worship.
• Coordinates leadership for bell choir, children’s choir, and small vocal and instrumental groups.
• Provides financial stewardship of music funds (designated music account, honorariums for guest musicians, and general budget account for Music Supplies).

Identify Future Goals [10% of time]

• Be able to clearly state the vision and direction of the music program and how it fits into the larger mission and vision of the church.
• Work with the Pastor to identify and implement strategic plans for music ministry growth.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
