General Purpose

To assist the Communication Director with creation, management, and tracking of marketing content for all Burlington City Arts programs. In addition to creating and managing content for social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, potentially others), this position requires creating and uploading content to the BCA website, community events calendars, and other digital platforms as assigned.

BCA programming includes exhibitions, camps, classes, events and festivals, public/donor relations, development and administrative needs, and other projects as assigned.

The Marketing Content Coordinator manages paid ads through Meta and Google Ads, in alignment with broader marketing strategy and budget managed by Communications Director. Content must align with BCA’s high aesthetic and communications standards. Additionally, the Marketing Content Coordinator will analyze digital marketing data for regular reports to Communications Director.

Please note, this position is up to 18 hours weekly.

Pay Grade: $21.00 Hourly

Essential Job Functions

  • Create, post, and manage paid and organic social media content to promote BCA programming and related projects
  • Work with Communications Director to create and maintain a social media calendar and cadence that communicates the full spectrum of BCA’s programming and mission
  • Manage and regularly update web content on burlingtoncityarts.org
  • Regularly post and update various community events calendars as needed
  • Select, resize, and edit images and video to create compelling content. Work with the Design Director to create graphics that reflect BCA’s branding
  • Create effective paid social media ad campaigns to target specific audiences
  • Attend BCA events, sometimes on nights, weekends, and holidays, to create content as needed
  • Communicate with public via social media including responding to comments and direct messages when appropriate.
  • Track social media performance data using platform-specific analytics to create regular reports for informing broader marketing and communications strategy
  • Meet weekly with Communications and Design Directors and attend Communications Committee meetings as needed

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements

  • Ability to actively support City diversity, equity, and cultural competency efforts within stated job responsibilities and work effectively across diverse cultures and constituencies.
  • Demonstrates commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion as evidenced by ongoing trainings and professional development.
  • 1-3 years of experience in digital marketing and content creation or a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Experience managing a social media account for a public brand (club, program, business etc.)
  • Ability to coordinate and execute multiple projects at one time with quick turnaround in fast paced environment
  • Fluency in social media platforms, especially Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro; familiarity with broader Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to understand and comply with City standards, safety rules, and personnel policies.
  • Regular attendance is necessary and is essential to meeting the expectations of the job functions.
