As a Maintenance Technician, you will be a vital team member responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of Belfair View Apartment Homes, a 126-unit multi-family property in Belfair, WA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare apartments for occupancy.
- Perform service requests and routine tasks as directed by the Community Manager or Property Manager.
- Perform repairs on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, or coordinate with the appropriate vendor if the work requires a licensed professional.
- Perform carpentry work and paint interiors and exteriors as needed.
- Maintain swimming pools and update logs as required by ordinance.
- Maintain detailed records of tasks performed in property management software.
- Assist management in maintaining required inventory.
- Assist with property upkeep, including trash pickup to ensure pristine curb appeal.
- Participate in property improvements and preventive maintenance.
- Report any maintenance problems to the Community Manager or Property Manager.
- Act as the point of contact for property vendors (e.g., landscapers, exterminators, trash removal, etc.).
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Maintain a courteous and helpful demeanor when interacting with residents, prospective residents, vendors, and associates.
- Actively participate in a positive team environment through teamwork, communication, and excellence in service; communicate regularly with the Community Manager.
- Wear the company uniform at all times and maintain a professional appearance while on duty.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook, as well as Fair Housing rules and regulations.
- Respond to and report accidents or emergency situations to the Community Manager immediately.
- Follow company key procedures.
- Be prompt with regular attendance.
- Be willing to be assigned to other company properties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of property maintenance experience required.
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, irrigation systems, and HVAC systems.
- Hold a Certified Pool Operator certification or be able to obtain it within 60 days of hire.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to use an appliance dolly and push/pull up to 200 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong motivation to learn and contribute daily.
- Ability to complete tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ability to troubleshoot and research to come up with solutions.
- Working knowledge of English; detail-oriented and well-organized.
- Available to work flexible hours and days.
- Work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment and/or independently.
- Valid and current driver’s license with reliable transportation and valid insurance.
- Familiarity with AppFolio or other online maintenance platforms is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED.
HOURS: 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday – Friday. Occasional weekends/evenings for emergencies.
