We're looking for a Maintenance Technician, working in the Light Industrial industry in Danville, Illinois, United States.

• Ensure the plant facility systems are maintained operational.
• Identify and follow through on repairs, assigning repairs to Facilities Technician or by working with vendors as necessary.
• Work independently in carrying out generalized instructions pertaining to operations of the Maintenance Department under the direction of management.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and manuals.
• Lay out work and estimate materials and costs.
• Assist in working on preventative maintenance on machinery.
• Maintain records and inventories as required and keep an orderly and clean work area.
• Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
• Tradesman will progress to Journeyman after completion of 2,000 hours.
• Journeyman will progress to Craftsman after completion of additional 3,000 hours.

• 1-year mechanical / maintenance experience
• Food Manufacturing experience, Sanitary Design experience, and knowledge of SIX SIGMA techniques such as 5-S would be a plus
• Journeyman card preferred
• High level of machine troubleshooting ability in a manufacturing environment including but not limited to: Allen Bradley PLC’s, Frequency Drives, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Servo Motors, Refrigeration systems (NH3), Boiler systems, and HVAC systems
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Ability to operate with a high degree of proficiency with little or no supervision, particularly as such involves the specific trade area
• Skilled in the use of instruments, tools and equipment of the specific trade and be moderately skilled in the use of tools of various trades
• Able to design, build, construct, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, set up or adjust machinery, equipment, parts, vehicles or structures
• Positions may be offered at Tradesman, Journeyman, or Craftsman level
• Must be able to progress to top Craftsman
• Must be a motivated team player
• Ability to work an alternative work schedule and shifts
