The responsibilities of the Career Services Coordinator include: - Build relationships with existing internships and companies/firms that can potentially provide internships - Identify internship employers, solicit their involvement in our internship/pipeline program, and acquire their internship materials for our internship files. - Identify community partners and higher education institutions , solicit their involvement in our pipeline program - Develop internship information and marketing materials for partners, staff, and students. - Conduct workshops on applying and selecting internships - Work with each site/internship/partner location on logistical necessities to successfully run the summer internship/pipeline - This includes but is not limited to - Coordinating transportation - Communicating and coordinating - Ensuring student participation - Run summer professional development with students before and during the internship - Any general support needed by the student or internship/pipeline partner - Helping to plan and facilitate career exploration events, such as mock interview night and career expo. - Helping to plan and facilitate career-related field trips and shadowing opportunities. - Host 529 sign up sessions for LYTE students and parents/guardians - Help students and families with the 529 sign up with step-by-step walkthrough support - Track which students have created 529s - Manage 529 accounts created by LYTE students and their families - Work with the Director of Development and Finance on ensuring internship funds are distributed to these accounts - Collecting, entering, and analyzing program-related data. - Supporting supervisor and College and Career Team with all required tasks.
