The Maryland Department of Aging helps establish Maryland as an attractive location for all older adults through vibrant communities and supportive services that offer the opportunity to live healthy and meaningful lives. This mission is achieved through providing streamlined access to Long-Term Services and Support (LTSS) encompasses a wide array of programs, services, and supports that are aimed at helping Marylanders live active, independent, and healthy lives in their communities for life.
A vital part of Maryland’s No Wrong Door network, the Maryland Department of Aging collaborates with other State departments, community organizations, and key stakeholders to provide person-centered services to meet the needs of some of Maryland’s most vulnerable populations.
Support State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP)
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or university for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s).
Experience working for a non-profit or government organization providing aging services.
Experience in project management and the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
Experience assisting with Medicare and/or Medicaid Waiver programs and services.
