Job Description

CSD is seeking a candidate to supervise/manage a team of analysts as they assist the consumers of Ohio understand their insurance benefits and work to resolve their complex insurance issues.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, problem solving, and organizational skills, and have the ability to build rapport with both the team and public.

This is an opportunity to use your extensive insurance knowledge in the following ways:

  • Assist with processes that provide resolution to consumers insurance issues and bridge the gap of insurance understanding
  • Ensure insurance companies are compliant with state and federal insurance laws
  • Be on the regulatory forefront of new trends in the industry
  • Analyzes and evaluates assigned staff's effectiveness of complaint processing
  • Conducts staff meetings and is involved with interviews and candidate selection
  • Meets with staff regularly to review and discuss performance and complete evaluations as needed

The final candidate can be expected to be paid at step 1 in the assigned pay range as a new hire, unless otherwise required by legislation or union contract. As an Insurance Complaint Analyst Supervisor, you will receive an increase after six (6) months then an annual step increase until you reach the last step in the pay range. Additionally, there are opportunities for possible annual cost of living (COLA) adjustments and a longevity pay supplement after five (5) years of state service.

Qualifications
10 years experience in insurance field (i.e., regulatory or industry) working with insureds or insurance contracts (e.g., health; life; annuities; personal lines; commercial lines) in multiple lines of business (i.e., property; casualty; life; health; managed care) which included responsibility for compliance with state & federal insurance laws, regulations & standards & insurance industry principles & use of statistical analysis; 6 months experience or 6 months training in operation of personal computer or mainframe computer.

  • Or 10 courses in insurance; 7 1/2 years experience in insurance field (i.e., regulatory or industry) working with insureds or insurance contracts (e.g., health; life; annuities; personal lines; commercial lines) in multiple lines of business (i.e., property; casualty; life; health; managed care) which included responsibility for compliance with state & federal insurance laws, regulations & standards & insurance industry principles & use of statistical analysis; 6 months experience or 6 months training in operation of personal computer or mainframe computer.

  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in insurance, communications, business or liberal arts; 8 years experience in insurance field (i.e., regulatory or industry) working with insureds or insurance contracts (e.g., health; life; annuities; personal lines; commercial lines) in multiple lines of business (i.e., property; casualty; life; health; managed care) which included responsibility for compliance with state & federal insurance laws, regulations & standards & insurance industry principles & use of statistical analysis; 6 months experience or 6 months training in operation of personal computer or mainframe computer.

  • Or 24 months experience as Insurance Complaint Analyst 3, 67233.

  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above
