Ink Manufacturing Operator and Production Packaging Technician

These positions responsibilities include the mixing of raw materials to create finished products according to batch sheets, responsible for weighing the correct chemicals and sampling finished product to quality assurance for approval, then packaging those finished goods into bottles and boxes with labels for inventory, and clean up all equipment and tools used.

Job Responsibilities

  • Observes and follows safety procedures and S.O.P’s set by the company.
  • Refers all issues to the lead/supervisor.
  • Transfers finish product into drums, bottles, containers, and totes to complete orders using our manual filtration systems.
  • Weighs up chemicals for batching using our available tools and equipment.
  • Cleans all equipment, tanks, and vessels after manufacturing.
  • Cleans up and organize area and tools used for manufacturing such as floor, scale, carts, tables, pliers, curtain, etc.
  • Take out hazardous wastes and empty drums at the end of the day.
  • Makes sure all chemicals returned to inventory are cleaned.
  • Sets up and monitors all mixing tanks, vessels, and mixers.
  • Obtains and understands all documentation for batching products.
  • Ensures all chemicals returned to inventory have the correct quantity and correct information on the chemicals.
  • Receives, records, and stores incoming raw materials.
  • Operates all equipment including tanks, mixers, scales, meters, pump, etc.
  • Completes all paperwork and batch documentation in a timely manner.
  • Submits finished product samples to the lab for approval.
  • Communicates with production when batches are completed and ready to fill.
  • Monitors all temperatures on batches that require heating and cooling.
  • Verifies raw chemicals usage on each batch is added correctly with correct weights, lot number, and other required information.
  • Operates drum lifter, drum dolly, and carts as part of weighing process.
  • Record information, such as ingredients, weights, and temperature, and finished goods produced onto batch tickets.
  • Troubleshoots issues with available production equipment and processes.
  • Observes all company, local, state, and federal safety and quality regulations.
  • Reports accidents, safety violations, or other concerns.
  • Assists in planning and improving processes and product quality.
  • Works with other team members and operators to complete the production process.
  • Meets physical requirements of the position, including walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, climbing, crouching, operating tools, and wearing safety gear.
  • Packages finished goods and stores them away on shelves.
  • Able to work with limited supervision.

Requirements

  • 1-year experience in a mixing environment is a plus but not required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend written and oral instructions including safety rules, operating procedures, batch recipes and material identification.
  • Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide as well as making the necessary conversions.
  • Able to handle 55-gallon drums and powder bags up to 60 lbs.
  • Able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Displays good troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with forklifts is preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of chemical processes.
  • Aptitude for mechanics.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A desire to work with team members to improve processes and product quality in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Willingness and ability to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear during working hours.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Working in warehouse and chemical production environment with UV process fumes and vapors.
  • Must be able to lift up tp 60 lbs.
  • 95% of the day you will be on your feet.
