The Role

General Motors is seeking skilled Industrial Electricians to join our team. As a licensed Electrician Journeyperson, you will play a vital role in the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of complex electrical systems and equipment. You will troubleshoot issues and provide your technical expertise to enhance our operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Adhere to safety protocols in compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
• Maintain and repair electrical equipment effectively.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions swiftly to minimize production downtime.
• Conduct electrical preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery.
• Foster teamwork and collaboration across various departments.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams accurately.
• Exhibit exceptional problem-solving abilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum of six (6) years of experience as an Electrician or possession of a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade.
• Successfully pass General Motors hiring processes, which include assessments, drug testing, and a background check.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, and overtime, with little notice.

• Compensation includes a Journeyperson or Journeyperson in Training rate ranging from $36.68 to $43.67, determined by credentials and interview performance.

Physical Requirements:
• Respond quickly to safety instructions, alarms, and signals.
• Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
• Comfortably wear personal protective gear.
• Navigate a busy work environment.
• Bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed.
• Potential to lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional sitting during certain tasks.
• Operate mobile equipment as necessary.
