Job Title: Experienced Host/Hostess

Job Summary:
Pietro’s Restaurant is seeking an experienced and personable host/hostess to join our team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service skills, be well-versed in using the OpenTable reservation system, and possess a passion for creating memorable dining experiences. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will set the tone for their experience by providing a warm, welcoming, and organized introduction to our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet all guests with a friendly and warm demeanor upon arrival.
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements using OpenTable, ensuring efficient table turnover and minimizing wait times.
• Answer phone calls promptly, addressing guest inquiries, taking reservations, and handling any guest concerns professionally.
• Maintain accurate waitlists and seating charts, coordinating closely with the front of house and kitchen teams to ensure a seamless dining experience.
• Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and inform them of their server's name.
• Ensure the host area is organized, clean, and stocked with necessary materials (menus, to-go materials, etc.).
• Handle guest complaints or concerns with poise and provide appropriate solutions or escalate to management as needed.
• Keep track of and manage large parties or special event reservations with attention to detail.
• Be knowledgeable about the menu, specials, and the restaurant's history to engage guests and enhance their experience.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a host/hostess in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Proficient in using OpenTable or a similar reservation system (required).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure, especially during busy shifts.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and punctual.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Knowledge of Italian-American cuisine is a plus.
