    College/Department Information

Facilities Services Division provides quality customer service by maintaining a safe, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing environment in which students, faculty, and staff can function and accomplish their educational objectives and by supporting a patient care culture that continuously improves. Facilities Services' responsibilities include Interior and Exterior Facilities Support, Construction, Space Management, and Environmental Services.

    Job Summary

    This is a technical/supervisory position responsible for implementing the landscape programs of the institution. Work involves planning, scheduling, directing, training, landscape design and supervision of work and subordinates.

    Responsibilities

    The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Designs landscape projects for the institution, working closely with the Grounds Superintendent.
    • Reads and interprets landscape and construction blueprints, plans and specifications.
    • Assists with the selection of pesticides and fertilizers.
    • Plans and directs ground maintenance programs for the control of weeds, plant diseases, and damaging insects.
    • Provides supervision to Grounds Maintenance staff.
    • Provides training programs for staff in the areas of safety, environmental design, planting techniques and maintenance.
    • Assists Grounds Superintendent with the selection and purchasing of trees and plant materials.
    • Assists Grounds Superintendent with establishing and revising as necessary related policies and procedures.
    • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

    Required Qualifications

    Educational Requirements

    Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture from an accredited college or university and 3 years experience maintaining landscapes.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Preferred Experience

    Supervisory experience preferred.

    Ability to maintain confidentiality

    Detail-oriented

    Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

    Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

    Shift/Salary/Benefits

    Shift: Days: Monday-Friday

    Pay Band: 9

    Salary : $48,800/annually - $60,320/annually

    Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
