Job Description

Work Shift:

Capital Health Medical Group is made up of more than 250 physicians and other providers who offer primary and specialty care, as well as hospital-based services, to patients throughout the region.
Position Overview:
  • Answers scheduling calls quickly while minimizing time customers are on hold.
  • Collaborates with physician's office to schedule cases while negotiating date and time and avoiding resource conflicts.
  • Gathers complete patient and procedure information and enters data accurately into database. Obtains and advises patients of all necessary pre-certification and referrals needed for financial reimbursement.
  • Completes MSP form timely and accurately. Understands and utilizes the necessary software program to determine "medical necessity" prior to scheduling a Medicare patient.
  • Informs all patients of pre-registration option and pre-registers all patients when information is obtainable.
  • Ensures that all appropriate staff, patients, departments, and external resources are notified of additions, changes, and cancellations.
  • Verifies all authorization are obtained twenty-four hours before date of service.
  • Follows out of network procedures.
  • Adheres to CH attendance policy as well as interdepartmental policies and procedures.
  • Attends all mandatory departmental meetings.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Experience: One year of call center or customer service experience assisting patients within a hospital or medical environment.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of medical terminology. Displays strong customer service and communication skills to properly assist patients' needs.
  • Special Training: Strong attention to detail.
  • Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Ability to multi-task and navigate between systems simultaneously. Ability to handle a large volume of incoming calls. Manages time and works well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Usual Work Day: 8 Hours

  • Anticipated Occupational Exposure Risks Include the following: Bloodborne Pathogens , Airborne Communicable Disease , Dust/Particulate Matter
