Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Retail Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team in a leading grocery store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our store, including supervising staff, managing inventory, and providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the store, including managing staff, scheduling, and ensuring a clean and organized store environment.
- Assist the Store Manager in managing inventory, including ordering and receiving stock, conducting inventory audits, and implementing inventory control measures.
- Provide exceptional customer service by resolving customer complaints, answering questions, and making recommendations.
- Lead by example and promote a positive and inclusive work environment through effective communication and team building.
- Manage and coordinate shift schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak periods.
- Conduct interviews, hire, and train new staff members.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws.
- Analyze sales data and develop strategies to drive sales growth and improve profitability.
- Implement and maintain sales promotions, displays, and advertising.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and address any issues related to store appearance, cleanliness, or maintenance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a retail management role, preferably in a grocery store environment.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in retail management software and systems.
- Experience with shift management and scheduling.
- Multilingual skills are an asset.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze sales data and develop effective strategies.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Interviewing and training experience.
- Experience with payroll processing and compliance with labor laws.
- Sales skills and experience in driving sales growth.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.25 - $13.80 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
