Position Summary

The Director of the MultiCare System Credentials Verification Office (CVO), is responsible for the overall management of the credentialing, primary source and data verification processes within the Medical Staff Services Department which provides operational support to the medical staff organizations for the Puget Sound and Inland Northwest Regions of MultiCare. The Director is also responsible for developing and maintaining open communication with the hospitals’ Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) regarding credentialing expectations and operations.

The Director position will function in a hybrid work environment, carrying out job responsibilities in part remotely and in part onsite. The Director will oversee a staff that also works in both regions remotely and on-site as necessary. Hospital-based leaders may have a dual matrixed reporting structure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration or related field
  • NAMSS Certification as a CPCS and/or CPMSM required (maintenance of certification required)
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of working experience in credentialing verification departments, with three (3) to five (5) years as a manager or director for a system-wide CVO
  • Knowledge of and working experience with ECHO database on-line application process for CVO operations, all Office applications
  • Experience in a Joint Commission accredited health system with expertise in the privileging and credentialing components, the ability to oversee privilege reviews and revisions when needed, and act as resource to the staff, medical staff leadership for credentialing verification process during the routine processing of initial credentialing and re-credentialing processes
  • Experience with process improvement methodology in addition to excellent management, critical thinking, problem solving, and conflict management skills

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $99,549.00 - $143,229.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
