Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Digital Communications Coordinator to join the agency. The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. The primary function of this position is to develop engaging content across various social media platforms, tracking trends, and analyzing media performance. Additionally, you will assist with managing and organizing match activities to ensure smooth operations and effective outreach. This is a part-time position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and curate high-quality, engaging content (text, images, videos) tailored to our brand voice and audience for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others.
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media trends and emerging platforms to ensure our content remains relevant and innovative.
  • Track, analyze, and report on social media metrics, performance, and engagement to measure the effectiveness of content and strategies.
  • Conduct research to understand online audience behavior, sentiment, and interests, and apply insights to enhance content strategies.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and engage with other agency social media activities and campaigns to identify opportunities and gaps in our strategy.
  • Assist in organizing and managing company events, promotions, and campaigns.
  • Create and distribute monthly activity newsletter (Big News).
  • Plan 3-5 match activities per month.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in social media content creation and management.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in social media analytics tools utilizing Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, and Instagram Insights (required).
  • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator (required).
  • Experience with CapCut, TikTok, Instagram, and other video editing software (required).
  • Experience with Buffer and other social media management tools (required).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Docs (required).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must successfully complete a background check consisting of National Sex Offender, Criminal History, driving record, and fingerprint screening prior to hire.

EVALUATION OF PERFORMANCE

Performance will be evaluated based on meeting the requirements of the job description; meeting performance metrics and other quality indicators established for this position; working effectively in a team environment; and demonstrating the values of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to work as needed on evening and weekends to attend planned events promoting the agency.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Ability to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (e.g., printer, copy machine).
  • Must have reliable transportation. Drivers of privately owned vehicles must have a valid driver’s license and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.
  • This is a part-time position, approximately 25 hours per week. Flexibility in scheduling is available.
