We are seeking a Corporate Controller that will lead, guide, and direct the accounting department and team members, while also serving as the accounting liaison with the executive team and other departments. This role ensures the accuracy of the financial statements, the timeliness of financial information preparation, and the optimization of accounting procedures to support the company's goals.


LOCATION / WORK TYPE:

  • Work Schedule: Full Time; on-site with the potential to transition to hybrid.
  • Location: Onsite days are at company headquarters in Sheboygan, WI.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the overall functioning of the accounting department, ensuring all transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP, and that all internal and external deadlines are met. Directs/assists the team with issues and improvements as necessary.
  • Prepares monthly financial package including all relevant financial statements and schedules. Reviews and explains variances from budget and prior year exceeding a set threshold and provides monthly financial package to Executive Leadership Team.
  • Leads the monthly close process and prepares/reviews/maintains organized set of supporting documentation for GL on a monthly basis.
  • Ensures a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets, minimize business risks, and improve operations.
  • Responsible for the annual financial audit, state audits, and tax filing preparation; Serves as primary contact with external audit and tax accountants and state agencies; Prepares/compiles/submits documentation requests by deadlines.
  • Responsible for all cash management needs, including transaction approvals, ACH or wire requests, LOC management and cash balancing between entities.
  • Complete ad hoc analysis and projects as needed and continuously strive for ongoing improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Vista Care leadership.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Preference will be given to local candidates.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, and ability to review/interpret/implement new accounting pronouncements.
  • 7+ years’ experience in a role of overall responsibility for producing full financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • 5+ years’ experience leading and supervising an accounting team.
  • 2+ years' experience consolidating financial statements of multiple entities.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Google suite, NetSuite, and Microsoft Office suite, with superior proficiency using Excel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
