Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Solar Installer to join our growing team as an installer for commercial (not utility scale) solar projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and electrical work, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics. As a Solar Installer, you will be responsible for the installation of solar panel systems on commercial properties, ensuring that all installations meet safety standards and client specifications. This may include supervising other installers and coordinating resources for the job. These jobs range from 100kW to a megawatt. Responsibilities

  • Install solar panel systems according to project specifications and local codes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine installation requirements.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as voltmeters to complete installations.
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate structural integrity and suitability for solar installations.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow on construction sites.
  • Perform fixture installations and electrical connections as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Operate forklifts safely when transporting materials on construction sites.

Skills

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics related to solar installations.
  • Experience in construction environments, particularly with solar panel installation and electrical work.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as voltmeters.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in executing installation tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in various weather conditions.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks associated with solar panel installation.

Qualifications

  • Blueprint reading skills
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and voltages
  • Previous construction site experience
  • 3-5 years solar installation experience
  • OSHA30 or willing to complete in the first 30 days
  • Familiarity with commercial solar installation processes
  • Ability to interpret schematics accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and safety protocols
