Job Overview
Cashiers are responsible for providing fast, friendly, and accurate “check out” to our customers. Cashiers will operate computerized cash register systems to weigh, scan, and process transactions. They will greet and frequently assist customers in locating products in the store and by bagging their purchases. Qualified candidates will assist in the cleaning of the check stands and surrounding areas as well as any other tasks assigned by management. They will also take “return” products back to the proper shelf locations.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide assistance as needed.
• Process transactions quickly and accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
• Mention promotions to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
• Stock shelves and maintain cleanliness in the checkout area.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Maintain knowledge of store products, promotions, and policies to assist customers effectively.

Skills

• Strong customer service skills to create a welcoming environment for shoppers.
• Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and cash handling.
• Familiarity with retail math concepts to assist in inventory management and sales analysis.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Experience in grocery store settings is advantageous but not required.

Pay: $12.00 - $13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 8.00 – 40.00 per week
