Summary:
The Assistant Manager will support the Bistro General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of The Crown Bistro, a restaurant and event venue within The Royal Standard retail store. This role focuses on ensuring exceptional front-of-house operations, coordinating private events, and assisting in employee management. The Assistant Manager will take an active role on various back-of-house activities, including menu development, inventory management, and customer satisfaction initiatives. This full-time role requires flexibility in working hours, typically Tuesday-Saturday or Wednesday-Sunday.
Essential functions:
- Assist in managing daily front-of-house operations, ensuring high standards of customer service and satisfaction.
- Aid in managing daily operations of the kitchen emphasizing quality control and exceptional customer service.
- Support in setting and meeting sales targets, assisting in the development and execution of strategies to achieve monthly objectives.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and concerns, working to resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating bistro staff, providing ongoing support and guidance.
- Collaborate with the General Manager on scheduling to ensure efficient staff coverage within budgetary limits.
- Manage the procurement of essential food, beverage, supply and packaging items. Maintain accurate inventory records for all culinary products
- Assist with private event coordination, including setup, staffing, and overseeing catering.
- Support the BOH staff in curating menu items and maintaining quality control for food and beverage offerings.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Assist with food preparation and event planning as needed.
