Introduction

The Division of Medicaid Services (DMS) is filling an Administrative Support position at Milwaukee Enrollment Services (MilES). MilES serves residents of Milwaukee County to determine eligibility for Medicaid, BadgerCare Plus, FoodShare, and other income maintenance assistance programs. Position Summary


In this administrative support role, you will be responsible for supporting the Income Maintenance program work including receiving and logging payments, maintaining databases, tracking requests, scheduling client appointments, completing forms, providing assistance to the public in-person and via telephone, and other general office support functions.

Salary Information


Starting pay for this position is $20.02 per hour, plus excellent benefits. A 12 month probationary period is required.

This position is classified as an Office Operations Associate, and is in pay schedule/range 02/10. Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction.

Job Details


All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.

Qualifications


Minimally qualified applicant will have all of the following:

  • Experience providing administrative support to multiple individuals (e.g., setting up meetings, completing forms, creating logs or tracking systems, copying, scanning and filing documents, processing mail, obtaining signatures, taking meeting notes, etc.)
  • Experience using basic office computer software, such as Microsoft Office Products (e.g., Word, Outlook, etc.) for document creation and email correspondence.
  • Experience entering data and generating reports using database and spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel, Access, or similar database programs, etc.).

Well-qualified applicant will also have one or more of the following:

  • Experience assisting customers by phone, in-person, or by email (e.g., answering questions, taking messages, greeting customers, directing customers to the appropriate location, etc.)
  • Experience working with confidential information (e.g., salaries, social security numbers, etc.)
